Chemawawin RCMP responded to a report of a deceased female located in an open area in the community of Easterville on June 21, 2024, at approximately 2:10 am.

Officers attended to the location and discovered a 16-year-old female with obvious injuries who was pronounced deceased.

Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death.

RCMP have arrested a male in relation to this homicide who remains in police custody at this time.
