Update: Two men charged with first-degree murder – Brantford Homicide #2 – Peter Potruff dies of injuries in hospital

Brantford Police responded to reports of an assault in an area along the Grand River near the Brant’s Crossing Riverfront Skateboard Park on Icomm Drive on May 25th at approximately 6:00pm.

Pn arrival police located 49-year-old Peter Potruff suffering from head injuries. Potruff was taken to the hospital for treatment where he ultimately died of his injuries on June 20th. Police have now upgraded this to a homicide investigation.

Police said the victim was involved in an alleged property dispute with another group of individuals, during which time he was assaulted with a bat.

Update Spetember 1st
On August 20th Brantford police arrested Joseph Cunningham Davis, 34, of Brantford, and charged him with First Degree Murder in relation to the homicide of Potruff.

On August 31st, Brantford police arrested Jason EDELMAN, 36, of Brantford, and also charged him with first degree murder.

This investigation remains active and ongoing.
