The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team is investigating the death on Chelsey Gauthier 22, after her body was found on August 16th. Police said the body was located in an isolated area near  Sylvester Road and Dale Road in Mission.

Chelsey Gauthier, a mother of two was reported missing on July 30th after last being seen on July 27th.

Cpl. Frank Jang of IHIT said the death is consistent with a homicide, however the cause of death has not been released.

Update September 10th, 2022
Integrated Homicide Investigation Team announced on September 10th that Gary Losch, who was 62 years old at the time of Gauthier’s death, had been arrested and the B.C. Prosecution Service had approved charges of second-degree murder and interference with a dead body.

Update July 25th 2025: According to reports, Justice Dev Dley found Gary Losch not guilty of second-degree murder, but guilty of manslaughter. He was also convicted of indignity to human remains in relation to the death of Gauthier.
