On March 15th, a family of 6 were driving home when the crash occurred on Highway 112 in St-Frédéric.

The minivan crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer killing the 42-year-old father, his 12-year-old son and four-year-old daughter.

The coroner has revealed that the minivan was going 135 km/h upon impact, having accelerated from 130 km/h just before the crash. The truck was traveling 70 km/h, and dashcam footage obtained from the truck showed the minivan suddenly changed lanes before the collision.

Coroner Donald Nicole said that the 42-year-old father died by suicide and the deaths of his 12-year-old son and four-year-old daughter were homicides.
