Langley BC 2026 Homicide Victim List
A shooting in Langley has left one person dead, with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) now leading the investigation.
Langley RCMP were called to the 6000 block of 200 Street at approximately 9:45 p.m. on October 5, 2026, following reports of gunshots.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found one person suffering from serious injuries. Despite efforts by first responders to save their life, the individual died at the scene.
“Despite life saving efforts, the individual succumbed to their injuries at the scene,” said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. IHIT has since been called in to investigate the death.
Just minutes later, at approximately 10:03 p.m., Langley RCMP officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire near 232 Street and 75 Avenue.
Investigators are now examining whether the vehicle fire is connected to the earlier shooting.
Police remain in the area as investigators conduct door-to-door inquiries, search for surveillance video and speak with potential witnesses. Authorities say the investigation remains in its early stages.
