On November 28, 2025, police responded to a sudden-death call and found 34-year-old Thomas Warren unconscious. Despite attempts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Police determined that his death was caused by a drug overdose.

Following the investigation, 33-year-old Patrick Moore of Wasaga Beach was charged with manslaughter, trafficking a Schedule 1 substance, and failing to comply with a probation order. The allegations have not yet been proven in court. Moore is scheduled to appear in Collingwood court on July 21, 2026.

The investigation remains ongoing, with the Huronia West OPP working alongside the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact police.
