One Dead, One Injured After Shooting in Timmins

The Timmins Police Service responded to reports of a weapons incident in the area of Fifth Avenue and Cedar Street North in Timmins shortly after 8:00 p.m. on November 5th.

When police arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was transported to the Timmins and District Hospital, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The second victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Criminal Investigation Unit and Forensic Unit, along with patrol officers, are actively investigating. The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) K9 Unit has been called in to assist with the search and investigation.

Investigators are also asking for the public’s help in identifying the person responsible for the shooting.
