Police responded to the report of an explosion in the 24300-block of 8 Avenue on October 22nd.

On police arrival Firefighters were putting out a fire in an “outbuilding”. Once the fire was extinguished human remains were located.

IHIT Sgt. Timothy Pierotti said “At this time we are unable to say whether the person was deceased as a result of the explosion or if they were already deceased beforehand.”

IHIT announced on October 26th that the death is no longer the subject of a homicide investigation.
