Toronto police responded to a call for a stabbing in the Sheppard Avenue West and Wilmington Avenue area on October 5, 2023, at approximately 11:15 a.m.
On arrival police located a woman and a man who had been stabbed. The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and the male victim, Enrique Vinluan, 53, died of his injuries.
Victorio Adriatico, 77, of Toronto has been arrested and charged with:
- First Degree Murder
- Attempted Murder

Update: According to Global News, a North York man has admitted to fatally stabbing his apartment building superintendent, 53-year-old Enrique Vinluan, and seriously injuring Vinluan’s wife during an attack in October 2023. However, Victorio Adriatico has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and aggravated assault, with the trial focusing on whether he was suffering from a mental disorder that would make him not criminally responsible for his actions.
