14-year-old charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose after Vancouver teen fatally stabbed

Vancouver police responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a fight between a group of young people in Almond Park, near Alma Street and West 12th Avenue on April 24th at approximately 1:30pm.

Police arrived to find a 15-year-old boy who had lost consciousness and collapsed in the park. The victim was suffering from a stab wound to the chest and was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on April 25th, hours after medical staff attempted life-saving surgery.

A 14-year-old boy was arrested nearby and has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.  The accused can’t be named because he is a youth.
