Toronto police responded to the report of a shooting on May 29th at 10:15pm in the Sheppard Ave W & Magellan Dr area.

27-year-old Hussein Elmi was found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

“This gentleman was steps from his home. He was returning home. I have no indication whatsoever that he had any interaction with the suspects at this point in time,” said Homicide Unit Sgt. Jason Davis.

A dark-coloured vehicle was seen fleeing the scene. Anyone with information is urged to contact investigators at 416-808-3100.
