York Regional Police received a report of a man shot in a parking lot near a restaurant in a plaza on York Boulevard at East Beaver Creek Road on November 17, 2023, at approximately 11:20 p.m.

Police arrived to find an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Police believe the homicide was targeted and there is no threat to public safety.

The area of the incident has many restaurants and nightclubs and is well-traveled by pedestrians and vehicular traffic. There were many people in the plaza at the time of the shooting.
