Alberta RCMP officers were called after reports of a man lying in the roadway near 3802 Highway Street on April 9th around 11:39 p.m.

The man was later identified as 38-year-old Valleyview resident Dolan Badger, and police said his injuries were suspicious.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit assumed control of the case and announced on Saturday that 27-year-old Jayden Houle, also from Valleyview, had been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He remains in custody and is set to appear in a Grande Prairie court on Monday.

Investigators are also trying to contact the driver of a semi-truck that was in the area at the time of the incident, hoping to obtain dashcam footage. A photo of the truck was released by police on April 11th.
