Two men have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Patrick Gagnon whose body was discovered in 2023 in a community north of Gatineau, Quebec.

Police found the remains of 45-year-old Patrick Gagnon in Gracefield, Que., in November 2023, about a month after he was reported missing from the nearby town of Kazabazua.

According to authorities, Gagnon lived in Lochaber-Partie-Ouest, a western Quebec township.

The Sûreté du Québec announced Thursday that Stéphane Lévesque and Éric Chénier had been arrested and charged with murder in Gagnon’s death. Both men, who are in their 40s, are also accused of committing an indignity to a body.
