Sackville RCMP Detachment responded to a report of a stabbing outside of a business on Lorne Street in on March 16, 2024, at approximately 7:45 p.m.

On arrival police located 44-year-old Shawn Mitton lying on the side of the road suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Tyler Murphy and Dylan Murphy were arrested and both charged with second-degree murder. They remain in custody, and are scheduled to return to court on March 19 at 9:30 a.m.
