Toronto Homicide #55 – Matthew Dreaver, 16, intentionally struck by a vehicle and left to die

Toronto police responded to a call for a Fail to Remain collision where a pedestrian was struck in the area of Woodbine Ave. and O’Connor Drive on October 7th at approximately 2:25am.

Police and paramedics arrived to find Matthew Dreaver, 16, of Toronto with obvious trauma. Dreaver was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police said the investigation has revealed the victim was alleged to have been struck intentionally by the vehicle.

Security footage of the area captured the suspect vehicle, a black, four-door small SUV, clean, unknown make or model with damage to the front of the vehicle. The suspects have been described as (driver) Male white, 20-35 years round face, 5’10” to 5’11” with short to balding hair and (passenger) Male white, short to balding hair, height and weight similar to suspect 1.

Update November 22nd.
Investigators said SUV is believed to be a 2007-2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, dark blue or black. Police have released a video that can be viewed on YoutubeToronto Police would like to warn the public that the video is graphic in nature. Viewer discretion is advised.
