Toronto Homicide #44 – Steven Mitchell dies in hospital following an altercation at Scarborough’s Bluffers Park

Toronto police were alerted of an assault that occurred on Monday, July 19, 2021, at approximately 8:00 a.m at Bluffer’s Park, in Scarborough.

It was reported that there were a group of people at the boat launch when two men became involved in a physical altercation. Steven Mitchell, 44, was rushed to hospital in critical condition with a head injury.

Nathan Hill, 37, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.

Toronto Police Service announced on August 1st that Nathan Hill’s charges were upgraded to manslaughter on July 31st. Police said the homicide is still an active investigation and ask the public to come forward if they were in the area of Bluffers Park or marina area between 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. on Monday, July 19, 2021.
