Toronto police and Fire Services responded to a call for a fire at 25 Bay Mills Boulevard on January 13th at approximately 3:06 am.

Toronto fire department extinguished the blaze and found 40-year-old Maryna Kudzianiuk of Toronto suffering from serious injuries. Kudzianiuk was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries. An autopsy was conducted on January 14th and ruled the death to be a homicide.

Ricardo Miraballes, 37, of Toronto, was arrested on January 18th and charged with second degree murder. During the arrest, Miraballes was shot by police near Scarborough Town Centre.
