Toronto police responded to the report of a shooting at David and Mary Thomson Collegiate, 125 Brockley Dr. on Feb 14th at approximately 3:00pm, shortly after dismissal.
Police located the 18-year-old male victim, who was in grade 12 at the school, suffering from serious injuries near the back doors of the school. Despite life-saving efforts from Paramedics, the teen was pronounced at the scene. According to TPS a boy approached the victim from behind and shot him. The deceased has been identified as Jahiem Robinson, 18, of Toronto.
Police said the boy fled the area while chasing another 18-year-old who he assaulted and pointed the gun at him, however, the gun did not fire.
As soon as police arrived on scene the school was placed under a lockdown and the Emergency Task Force were brought in to conduct a full sweep of the premises. The lockdown was lifted at 5:00pm, and police believe the suspect fled prior to their arrival.
On Monday, February 14, 2022, at 6:54 p.m., Police arrested a 14-year-old boy, of Toronto, and charged with:
1. First Degree Murder
2. Attempted Murder
