Tony Magi Shot to death in Montreal’s first homicide of 2019

Montreal police responded to a report of gunshots in the west-end neighbourhood of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce in the morning of January 24th

Police arrived to find Tony Magi unconscious on the sidewalk outside a construction site. Magi was suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Police said Magi died in hospital of his injuries. No arrests have been made at this time.

Tony Magi had reported links to organized crime in Montreal. Magi survived a kidnapping in 2005, and a shooting that left him in a coma in 2008.
