The 2021 Thunder Bay Homicide Victim List is available here

Thunder Bay Emergency crews dispatched to a residential address in the 100 block of Frederica Street East following reports of a structural fire just after 9:20 p.m. October 2nd.

A deceased 33-year-old man was located deceased inside the home. As a result of the autopsy, police are treating the death as a homicide. The TBPS is not releasing the name of the deceased out of respect for the family.

Anyone with information or surveillance footage is asked to contact police at 684-1200 or submit tips through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Update
Shane CABRAL, 19, of Ottawa, and Michael GOMEZ, 20, of Nepean face charges of First-Degree Murder for their suspected roles in the homicide of Jordan LAPOINTE, 33.

Zachary Johnson SZURA, 22, of Thunder Bay, was arrested by police on Wednesday, Oct. 27 and charged with Arson: Damage to Property. Ronald Jerry HILL, 43, of Thunder Bay was also arrested and charged with, First Degree Murder and Arson: Damage to Property.

Update: Derek Robert TURNER, 39, of Thunder Bay, was taken into custody on Saturday, May 14 and charged with:

• Resist Peace Officer
• Failure to Comply with Release Order
• Possession of Cocaine
