Little information available on Winnipeg’s latest Homicide of a 17-year-old

Police and Paramedics responded to a report of a male assaulted in the railway underpass on McPhillips St. near Logan Ave on September 24th at approximately 4:00pm.

The victim, a 17-year-old male, was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. No other information is available at this time.

Update September 30th
A 13-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with Second Degree Murder and remains in custody.

73-year-old male dies in hospital after a violent assault. Winnipeg youth charged with 2nd degree murder

Winnipeg Police responded to report of an assault in front of a residence in the 400 block of Redwood Avenue on September 23rd at approximately 2:15am.

Police arrived at the scene to find the assault was still in progress. The 73-year-old victim was rushed to hospital in critical condition as he sustained serious upper-body injuries. He died of his injuries on September 24th.

Police arrested a male youth at the scene. He was charged with Second Degree Murder,  Aggravated Assault and Fail to Comply with Sentence x 2 regarding this incident

Jason Peter John James found violently beaten to death in Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Police responded to a ‘Check the Wellbeing’ in the 300 block of Pritchard Ave on September 22nd at approximately 1:30pm.

Police arrived to find Jason Peter John James, 40, of Winnipeg, deceased. Officers said James had been violently assaulted.

Police are searching for two male suspects.
1 . Michael Anthony Caribouis described as an Indigenous male, 28 years old, with black hair and brown eyes. Approximately 5’9″ in height and weighs approximately 140 lbs.

2. Faron Alexander Spence is described as an Indigenous male, 39 years old, with black hair and brown eyes. He is approximately 5’8″ in height and weighs approximately 140 lbs.

Both men are wanted for second degree murder. Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508

2 Men found dead in Winnipeg in a domestic related homicide

Winnipeg police responded to a check on welfare at a home located at 100 block of Wordsworth Way on August 7th.

On arrival police located two deceased adult males. Police said the homicide appears to be domestic in nature. The investigation is still in its early stages, and police ask that anyone with information contact investigators at 204-986-6508.

Update August 16th
Winnipeg police have identified the victim as as Kok Aun Tee, a 37-year-old male, and Luis Miguel Almeida, a 33-year-old male. Police said Tee had been assaulted and sustained fatal injuries. Almeida’s injuries were found to be self-inflicted.

Hans George Scheppner, 85, stabbed to death by his wife in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police responded to a check on welfare at  a suite in a residential complex in the 1700 block of Henderson Highway on July 21st.

Police arrived to find Hans George Scheppner, 85, deceased. The victim’s wife Anne-Dore Maria Scheppner, 73, was arrested at the scene and charged with second degree murder.

Police believe the death was the result of an argument that escalated and lead to the stabbing on the evening of July 15.

Kenneth Wood dies of a gunshot wound in Winnipeg’s 10th homicide of 2018

Winnipeg police and paramedics responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Flora Avenue and McKenzie Street at approximately 1:40am.

Kenneth Wood, 35, was found with life threatening injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

The Winnipeg Police Homicide Unit is seeking assistance from anyone who had contact with the victim. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 204-986-6508.

Ryan Dunsford beaten to death by his brother

Winnipeg police were called to a hotel in the 300 block of Smith Street on June 23rd on report of an unresponsive man.

Police arrived to find Ryan Dunsford, 26,  from Little Grand Rapids deceased. Reports stated that Ryan Dunsford had been beaten to death, however no weapon was used.

The victim’s brother Roy Dunsford, 20, has been charged with Manslaughter and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking X2.

Christine Barker stabbed to death by her 18 year old daughter in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police and paramedics responded to the report of an injured female at a residence in the first 100 block of Beaumont Bay on May 28th at approximately 12:10pm.

Police located Christine Lynnette Barker,36, suffering from  stab wounds. Barker was rushed to hospital where she died of her injuries.

The victim’s daughter Hailey Summer Barker, 18, was arrested on June 4th and charged with second degree murder.
