Thompson RCMP make an arrest in the city’s first homicide of the year

Thompson RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at an apartment complex, on Princeton Drive, on January 4th at approximately 9:00pm.

Police arrived to find a 30-year-old man from Leaf Rapids suffering from serious injuries. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Police arrested Ronald Dysart, 26, of Leaf Rapids on January 5th and charged him with Manslaughter.

RCMP investigating the death of a 22-year-old male in Thompson as a homicide

Thompson RCMP responded to report of an unresponsive man near a vacant building on the corner of Public Lane and Cree Road, on August 30th at approximately 6:40am.

Police arrived to find a 22-year-old male from Split Lake First Nation not breathing, with visible signs of trauma. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police arrested and charged Bryan Roulette, 24, with Assault Causing Bodily Harm. The victim and Roulette were known to each -other.


Update 4 people charged – Police search for Randal Hastings of Oxford House First Nation

Thompson RCMP were called to the Burntwood Hotel on report of an injured male on April 21st at approximately 1:00am.

Police arrived to find a 35 year old man with serious injuries. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries. Police have not released the cause of death of the identity of the victim at this time.

RCMP said Randal Hastings of Oxford House First Nation is wanted on second-degree murder charges.

Update April 29th
Thompson RCMP have arrested Carla Wass, Warren Bradburn, Gregory Hart and Randal Hastings in connection to the death of a 35 year old man. All four are facing charges of second degree murder.

51 year old woman dies in Thompson Manitoba. Charges laid

Thompson RCMP received a report of an assault at a residence on March 26th at approximately 10:30pm.

Police arrived to find a 51 year old female with life threatening injuries and a 39 year old male with minor injuries. The victims were taken to hospital where the woman dies of her injuries.

Conan Lewis, 21, was arrested at the scene and charged with second degree murder.

The victim’s identity has not been released at this time.

Franc Mlakar found dead in Thompson

Thompson Police received a call to check on the well being of a senior on November 17th. Police arrived to find 83 year old Franc Mlakar dead.

Police said the death appears to be a homicide. Mlakar’s was last seen by friends on October 31.

Police are asking for the help of the public in piecing together the time he was last seen, and the discovery of Mr. Mlakar.

17 year old killed in Thompson

Police were called to a downtown Thompson home just after 10pm on September 12th on report of a disturbance. Police arrived to find a 17 year old male injured.

The boy was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries.  Police arrested a 31 year old man from Thompson in relation to the death of the boy.

The cause of death has not been released at this time.

Nicholas Brophy’s remains found near Thompson

Nicholas Brophy 19, was last seen September 8 in Thompson a northern Manitoba city. Brophy’s family issued a public plea April 28th for information regarding Brophy and offered a reward $50,000 for his return.

Nicholas Brophy’s body was found April 26 just outside of Thompson.

April 30: Justin Noah Baker, 19, and Zach Edwin Linklater, 22, of Thompson, have been arrested. Both have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the teens death.

The cause of death has not been released.
