Lorenzo Bearspaw’s body found, one suspect fatally shot by police

Lorenzo Bearspaw was reported missing by his sister on January 3rd after he was last seen getting into a vehicle on January 1st at round 2am. The vehicle was found abandoned in a ditch.

RCMP found the body of Bearspaw on January 6th in Stoney Nakoda First Nations near Morley. The cause of death has not been released.

On January 7th RCMP attempted to make three arrests for first degree murder. Police arrested John Stephens 29, without incident. The second suspect 27 year old Ralph Stephens engaged police, and was shot. Stephens died in hospital.

Police are searching for Deangelo Powderface 22. anyone with information of his whereabouts is asked to cal Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)

UPDATE – Charges laid in the death of Kori Wesley

Cochrane RCMP were called to the Chiniki Rodeo Grounds in Stoney Nakoda First Nation, on August 7th on report of an unresponsive man.

RCMP arrived to find the body of Kori Wesley 21, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 20 year old Stoney Nakoda First Nation man has been arrested and charged with second degree murder. A 17 year old boy was arrested in Red Deer Alberta after a warrant was issued, there has been no word on what charges the minor will be facing.

Update: Tristan Wesley, charged with the murder of his father Myles McLean

RCMP have charged a resident of the Stoney Nakoda First Nation  Tristan Wesley, 27 with murder in connection with the death of his father Myles McLean on Canada Day.

The victim’s identity has not been released, but RCMP confirm he was a 55-year-old man from the Morley First Nation.

Tristan Wesley, has Received a three-and-a-half year sentence after pleading guilty in connection with his father’s death and an attack on his sister.
