William Autut charged with second-degree murder in relation to the death of a 43-year-old woman in Iqaluit

Iqaluit police were called to a residence at the arctic college units on February 6th.

Police arrived to find a 43-year-old woman deceased in a unit. Police said the circumstances of the death appeared to be suspicious in nature.

The investigation lead to the arrest of 52-year-old William Autut of Iqaluit. Autut has been charged with second-degree murder and fail to comply with a probation order. He is scheduled court appearance is March 3, 2020.

Wayne Panipakoocho charged with second-degree murder in relation to the death of an Iqaluit man.

Iqaluit RCMP responded to a report of an injured man in the 2600 block area on June 30th. The victim was quickly located and rushed to Qikiqtani General Hospital where he died from his injuries.

The Victim’s identity and cause of death have not been released by RCMP at this time.

Wayne Panipakoocho, who is known to police was reported to have fled the scene. Mr. Panipakoocho of Pond Inlet was arrested just before noon on June 30th and charged with Second Degree Murder.

Suspicious Iqaluit death a murder suicide

Iqaluit police were called to the Tammaativvik Boarding Home in Iqaluit on  May 6, where a 22-year-old female was located with no vital signs.

The investigation lead police to find the victim’s 31-year-old domestic partner also deceased. On May 8th RCMP reported the deaths to be a murder suicide.
