Halton police investigate a daytime double shooting that resulted in the murder of Pat Musitano Plains Road in Burlington

Halton Regional Police responded to a shooting at 484 Plains Road East in Burlington on July 10th at approximately 1:10pm.

Police and paramedics arrived to find one man deceased and two others injured. Police have not released the identity of the deceased at this time. The two men were send to hospital for treatment. One man suffered a gunshot wound and police said the injuries the other man sustained are undetermined.

Police said they are searching for a male suspect who fled westbound on Plains Road East in a grey sedan.  Police have asked that people stay out of the area so that our officers can conduct their investigation. Updates to follow.

Update July 10th
Halton Regional Police Service has confirmed that the deceased victim from today’s shooting in Burlington was Pasquale (Pat) Musitano, 52, of Hamilton, Ontario. The second shooting victim remains in hospital in serious condition.

Laura Grant shot to death by her husband in Burlington Ontario

Halton Regional Police Service responded to a report of a shooting from within the home at 2244 No. 2 Side Road in Burlington on August 21st at approximately 3:00pm.

Police arrived at the scene to find a woman with traumatic injuries. Despite life-saving efforts the victim was pronounced at the scene. Halton police have identified the victim as Laura Grant, 57, a longtime EMS dispatcher for  Mississauga Central Ambulance Communication Centre.

Uniform, K9 and Tactical officers responded to the scene and Kenneth Soederhuysen, 57, was quickly taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder.  Police said the accused and the victim were married at the time of the incident and both lived at 2244 No. 2 Side Road.

Dr. Ferdinand Mejilla shot to death at his Burlington practice

Halton police responded to a call at the Mejilla Chiropractic Clinic in Burlington on March 16th after report of a shooting at around 12:05pm.

Police located the victims, Fred (Ferdinand) Mejilla 50 suffering from a gunshot wound, and David Williamson 44 suffering from a self inflicted gunshot wound. The pair were rushed to hospital where Mejilla died of his injuries.

Update March 23

David Williamson, a former patient of Mejilla and husband to an employee of the Mejilla Chiropractic Clinic died in hospital from a self inflicted gunshot wound on Monday March 20th.

Police have not released any motive for the shooting at this time.

The death of Dr. Mejilla is the first Burlington homicide in 518 days. The previous homicide was Wesley Nagel, who was murdered by his son on October 15th 2015.

62 year old Wesley Nagel  was stabbed to death by his son Wesley Nigel Robert Nagel 32.

Police were called to the rooming house in Burlington, Ontario on October 15th on report of a domestic assault. Nagel Sr was transported to Hospital where he passed away from his injuries at 4am on October 16th.

It was Wesley Nigel Robert Nagel who called 911, reporting someone had been stabbed. He was arrested , and later charged with second degree murder.
