Peel police responded to a home in the area of Chadwick Street and Lockwood Road on a call for what they initially believed was a stabbing on November 9th in the afternoon.

Despite the best efforts of first responders, 37-year-old Sterling Sylvester succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

On November 20, 2024, Eileen Beardy, a 34-year-old female from Brampton, and Lucas Cardy, a 30-year-old man from Brampton were arrested and held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.

They’re charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

• Manslaughter
• Accessory After the Fact to Murder

An arrest warrant for the suspected shooter, 33-year-old Anthony Beardy of no fixed address has been issued for Second Degree Murder. Anthony is 6’1”, 190lbs, medium build, brown eyes, and of indigenous descent. He has a tattoo on the front of his neck of a skull with feathers, and a tattoo containing text on his left hand.
