Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that a death under investigation in Augusta Township has been ruled a homicide.

Police were called to a residence on County Road 26 at approximately 3:30 p.m. on July 8 after a deceased person was discovered inside the home.

Following an investigation, the OPP announced on Tuesday that the death has officially been classified as a homicide.

Investigators believe the incident was isolated and say there is no indication of an ongoing threat to public safety.

The investigation remains active, and no arrests have been made at this time. Police have not released additional details as they continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the case.
