On July 20, 2026, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) discovered human remains on a property located on Kelly Jordan Road near Smiths Falls.

The remains have since been identified as those of 75-year-old Robert Lambert, who was reported missing from his Montague Township home, just outside Smiths Falls, in 2018. Investigators have indicated that foul play is suspected in his disappearance.

This marks the second set of human remains recovered from the property. At this stage, no charges have been laid in connection with Lambert’s death. The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch continues to lead the investigation, and officers remain at the scene as the inquiry progresses. Police say additional information will be released when appropriate.

Anyone with information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Those wishing to remain anonymous can provide information through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477.
