Norway House RCMP were dispatched to a residence in the community for assistance on November 12, 2024, at approximately 7:30 am.

Police arrived to find a 23-year-old female deceased, inside the residence.

At this time, the incident is deemed suspicious in nature.

RCMP Major Crime Services (MCS) has taken over the investigation.

Update: RCMP announced on November 14th that Derek Bruce Forbister, 35, of Norway House, has been arrested and charged with manslaughter in connection with the death.

Police said the victim and accused were known to each other.
