The Sûreté du Québec said Thérèse Desbiens was found unconscious in her apartment on rue Bourcier, in Mercier, on July 1 at around 1:00pm. According to reports, Thérèse Desbiens was stabbed to death in her first floor apartment.
As a result of the investigation police began searching for the victim’s 66-year-old neighbour Normand Ladouceur, who they believed took her car. Ladouceur was located on July 4th in the victim’s Ford Focus at parking lot of an IGA in Sorel-Tracy, after being spotted by a passerby, who called 911.
Murder charges are expected to be filed against him on Jult 5th at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse.
