Matthew David Maniago, shot to death in Calgary

Calgary police were called to the 100 block of Mt Aberdeen Manor S.E., on October 7th just before midnight on reports of a man in medical distress laying in the street.

Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police said the victim has been identified as 29-year-old Matthew David Maniago, and that he died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact police by calling the non-emergency number at 403-266-1234.

Update October 15th 2020
Police said they have collected CCTV from the area that shows two vehicles, a blue 2017 Nissan Maxima and white 2007 to 2009 Honda CRV, that are believed to be involved in the shooting. The Maxima was stolen from a residence two weeks prior to the shooting and was recovered by investigators at the scene. The white Honda CRV is believed to have been stolen during a break and enter in Douglasdale on Oct. 6th 2019. Police have not yet recovered this vehicle and are looking for the public’s help to locate it.

Police believe the murder was targeted and ask anyone with information to contact investigators at 403-266-1234.
