While responding to a report of an assault, Thompson Rural RCMP found out on-route that the home was also on fire on March 2nd at approximately 7:32pm.

Police said  firefighters had located one female inside the residence and two males were on scene with injuries. The 21 year old woman was rushed to a nursing sation where she died of her injuries.

Travis Munroe, 23, a resident of the home, was arrested and charged with Manslaughter, Arson with Disregard for Human Life, Assault x 2 and Assault Causing Bodily Harm.
