Police and paramedics responded to a 9-1-1 report of an unresponsive male in a residence in the area of Gainsborough Road and Coronation Drive on March 5th at approximately 9:00am.

An autopsy was completed and determined that Ira Johnathan Zucker, 31, dies as a result of a fentanyl overdose.

Investigators arrested Craig French, 33, of London, on October 6th, and charged him with the following offences:

• Manslaughter; and
• Trafficking a Schedule I substance (fentanyl).

Det. Sergeant Sean Travis, officer in charge of the Major Crime Section said “In this case, the charge of manslaughter is based on the illegal sale of fentanyl to an individual resulting in the overdose death of that individual.”
