On November 28, investigators from the Major Crimes Unit, along with canine teams and members of the Sûreté du Québec’s Emergency Measures Unit, located the body of Robert Farr, who had been reported missing from Sutton since October 31. His identity was officially confirmed in the days following the discovery.

Robert Farr, 46, from Cowansville, had been unaccounted for since October 31, and information collected by the Sûreté du Québec during the investigation indicated he might have been the victim of a violent crime.

According to Unidentified Human Remains Canada, police arrested 38-year-old James Godue on November 11 on suspicion of murder, and 32-year-old Kamille Saindon as an accessory after the fact. Both appeared in court that day and have remained in custody since. While still detained, James Godue was arrested again on December 3, this time on charges of first-degree murder and committing an indignity to a body, following the formal identification of Farr’s remains.
