The Bracebridge OPP is investigating a homicide after a body was discovered in a remote area near Hardy Lake Road on Monday, September 15, 2025. The victim has been identified as Tyler Penasse, a 25-year-old man from West Nipissing.

Police are appealing to the public for assistance. Investigators are asking anyone who was in the areas of Hardy Lake Road, Torrance, Bala, Wahta, or Gravenhurst between September 14 and 15 to check for any dashcam footage or information that could assist the investigation. Even footage or details that may seem unrelated could be vital.
