RCMP said the body of Lucille Maltais, 71, was found inside a burned home in Val-d’Amour, after police were called to a house fire on May 22nd.
Investigation revealed the the fire was deliberately set and that the death of Maltais was a homicide. Police arrested Charles Alex Maltais, 42, the son of the deceased on May 24th. Charles Maltaias was arrested in Richmond BC and charged with second-degree murder and arson.
