Charges dropped in Collingwood Ontario double homicide.

The Blue Mountains OPP said an altercation took place at a residence at Georgian Blue housing complex on January 22, at approximately 1:30am that resulted in two deceased individuals.

The victims have not been identified as police are waiting on next of kin notification.

Cameron Gardiner, 57, of Collingwood has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder.  Police believe that there was a third person accompanied the two deceased, that person has not been identified by police.

Update March 31st

According to CTV News court documents reveal that three men kicked in the backdoor of the previously accused’s townhouse on Jan. 22, 2019. Gardiner and his girlfriend were bound with zip ties and held at gunpoint. Gardiner’s dog was zip-tied to his leg. Lawyers argued that the shooting was in self defence and The Crown has withdrawn manslaughter charges.
