Quebec 2026 Homicide Victim List
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), emergency crews were called to Church Street at approximately 1:30 a.m, on July 1st after receiving a report of an unresponsive person.
Investigators located a man with visible injuries. The victim was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He has been identified as 26-year-old Austin Gallon.
Police said a 33-year-old man was taken into custody shortly after officers arrived at the scene. He remains in police custody and is expected to be questioned by investigators as the investigation continues.
The SQ’s Crimes Against Persons Unit has assumed responsibility for the case. Forensic specialists are also examining the scene to collect evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
Police arrested 33-year-old Yoan Anglehart of Paspébiac, who appeared in court the same evening. He has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and remains in custody while the case proceeds. Investigators say Anglehart and Gallon knew each other, indicating the incident was not believed to be a random attack.
