Peel Regional Police have made an arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Brampton in May 2024.

In the early morning hours of May 11, 2024, at approximately 4:18 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Kennedy Road and Stafford Drive following reports of gunfire. When emergency crews arrived, they found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local trauma centre but later died from his injuries.

The victim was identified as 43-year-old Dayne Gordon of Toronto.

Nearly two years later, on Feb. 9, 2026, police arrested 41-year-old Winardo Winteria Morris in connection with the case. Morris has been charged with first-degree murder and was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice.
