Ottawa’s First Homicide of the Year: Three Charged with Second-Degree Murder in Killing of Brantford Man Shawn Challis-Eatough

Emergency crews were called to the 1400 block of Mayview Avenue in the Carlington neighbourhood at about 7:10 p.m on January 28th, where 28-year-old Shawn Challis-Eatough was found suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Paramedics responded to reports of a stabbing near Merivale Road and rushed the victim to hospital, where he later died.

Two men, 41-year-old Steve Vivian of Ottawa and 19-year-old Anthony Meredith of Kitchener, have been charged with second-degree murder and appeared in court. A 41-year-old Ottawa woman was also arrested in connection with the investigation, which remains ongoing. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit.

Update January 29th: Ottawa police have announced that 41-year-old Selina Rose O’QUINN of Ottawa has now been charged with second-degree murder.
