York Regional Police Homicide Unit are seeking witnesses following the suspicious death in Markham

York Regional Police were called to a residence on Feeney Lane on the report of a deceased man on October 21st at approximately 2:00pm.

Police arrived to find a man, believed to be in his 50’s, deceased. The victim’s identity will be released pending post-mortem results.

Police are appealing to the community for any information on the whereabouts of Black 2015 Honda CRV, with an Ontario plate: BNEV917. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865.

Update October 23
The victim has been identified as Mohammad Mehdi Amin Sadeghieh 58, of the City of Markham. According to reports Amin Sadeghieh was an Iranian democracy advocate.

Anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area, who have not yet spoken to police, to please come forward. Also anyone in the area with residential video surveillance that may have captured anything suspicious to please come forward.

Update November 6th
Charmaine Anne GUISALTA, 27, City of Toronto, also known as Charmaine Anne SAMONTE, was arrested in the city of Toronto and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Mohammad Mehdi Amin Sadeghieh.

Investigators do not believe there is a connection between the victim’s political views and his murder.
