Winnipeg police investigate the homicide of Leo Charles Martin-Shea

Winnipeg Police Service and paramedics responded to the 300 block of Princess Street for the report of a male who had been assaulted on April 11, 2023, at approximately 12:30 a.m.

Police and paramedics located the victim, 25-year-old Leo Charles Martin-Shea, in serious condition. Martin-Shea was rushed to hospital where he died of his injuries on April 19th.

The investigation determined that the victim had been assaulted on the east side of Main Street at Stella Avenue on April 8 between 8:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Emergency personnel were not contacted until April 11th when his condition had worsened.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information or video surveillance footage that may assist investigators is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS.
