The 2023 Winnipeg Homicide Victim List is available here

Winnipeg police responded to the 1800 block of Portage Avenue on November 5, 2023 on the report of a shooting.

Police located two adult male victims who in critical condition. Both men were rushed to the hospital where 27-year-old Lawrence Evan Pruden succumbed to his injuries. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

Winnipeg police announced on December 12th that 23-year-old male, Nathaniel GATEHOUSE-GILCHRIST, has been charged with the following offences and detained in custody.

– Second Degree Murder

– Attempt to Commit Murder

Investigators have identified a second suspect and requested the public’s assistance in locating this individual.

Bryce William WALKER, a 21-year-old male

Wanted for Second Degree Murder and Attempt to Commit Murder

WALKER is approximately 5’5” in height and approximately 140 lbs.

Update, on January 23, 2024, members of MIVOAU and the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team located WALKER in a residence in Thompson and placed him under arrest on the strength of the warrant. WALKER was turned over to members of the Winnipeg Police Service’s Homicide Unit in Thompson
