The 2023 Winnipeg Homicide Victim List is available here

Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a shooting in the 400 block of Beverley Street on March 7th at approximately 6:00 a.m.

On arrival police located two adult victims were located suffering from gunshot wounds. One woman was pronounced deceased, and a second victim was transported to hospital in an unstable condition. The deceased has been identified as Lori GORDON.

The Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation. Anyone with information regarding this shooting is asked to call the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6805 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS(8477).

Update on April 13, 2023, investigators arrested a 17-year-old male from Winnipeg in connection with the incident. He faces the following charges:

– Second Degree Murder
– Attempt to Commit Murder x 5
– Aggravated Assault x 5
– Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted Firearm with Ammunition
– Discharge of Firearm with Intent

Police are searching for 18-year-old Martin Faruq LUTHER of Winnipeg as a second involved suspect. He remains at large, and a Warrant for Second Degree Murder has been issued for his arrest.

He is described as Black, 5’11” with a thin build.

Update:

On September 26, 2023, with the assistance of the Steinbach RCMP, LUTHER was located in Hanover, MB, where he was taken into custody. He was arrested on the strength of his warrant and charged with the following offences:

– Second Degree Murder (Lori Gordon)

– Attempt to Commit Murder x 5
