Update: Jesse James Daher & Evan Daniel Bill Brightnose-Baker have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder of Mohamed Mohiadin Ahmed in Winnipeg

Winnipeg police responded to the area of Churchill Drive and Hay Street for a report of a body that had been discovered in the Red River on October 12th at approximately 8:06am.

Police said the deceased has been identified as Mohamed Mohiadin Ahmed, 29, of Winnipeg. His death is being investigated as a homicide. The cause of death has not been released.

No arrests have been made at this time. Police are asking anyone with information regarding Mohamed’s recent whereabouts or with information that may assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Update January 20th, 2021
A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jesse James DAHER, 28 of Winnipeg for Second-Degree Murder. DAHER is described as a white male, 6’3” in height, approximately 155 lbs in weight, with a thin build. He has green eyes and is believed to have a shaved head or possibly brown short hair.

Update February 10th
 Evan Daniel Bill Brightnose-Baker, 21, of Winnipeg is wanted for Second-Degree Murder. Brightnose-Baker,  is described as Indigenous, 5’5” tall, approximately 126 lbs in weight and has a medium build. He has brown eyes and is believed to have black hair.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911. Additional information that may assist investigators can be relayed to the Homicide Unit Investigators at 204-986-6508

Update March 1st, 2021
Jesse James Daher, 28 of Winnipeg, was arrested by police on Feb,27th and is facing several charges including second-degree murder, aggravated assault and a number of weapons offences.

Update April 29th, 2021
Evan Daniel Bill BRIGHTNOSE-BAKER, 21, of Winnipeg, was arrested on April 27th, at a home in the William Whyte neighbourhood and charged with second degree murder.
