17-year-old Toronto male charged with First-degree murder. Second suspect still outstanding – Waterloo Regional Police search for vehicle in the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police responded to the report of shots fired on January 25, 2024, at approximately 9:10 a.m, in the Gray Street area.

Upon arrival, police located a 28-year-old male deceased outside a residence.  Police believe that this was a targeted incident.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the motor vehicle in the image. The driver was operating a 2017-2022, dark grey Honda CRV with a missing front license plate. This vehicle was observed in the area the night before the homicide occurred.

Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects in connection to this homicide. The first suspect is described as a Black male, wearing a black jacket, a grey Nike hoodie, and grey track pants.  The second suspect is described as a male, wearing a black hooded jacket with a white logo on the left side of the chest, black pants, and light coloured Nike gloves.

Update: On November 12, 2024, WRPS’ Major Crime Unit arrested and charged a 17-year-old Toronto male with First Degree Murder in connection to this homicide.

The accused remains in police custody.

The second suspect in this homicide remains at large. Investigators are seeking assistance from the public to identify the individual pictured below.
