Victim dies in hospital after daytime shooting in Mississauga

Peel police responded to report of a shooting in the area of Dundas Street East and Cawthra Road in the city of Mississauga at approximately 11:15am on March 11th.

Police and paramedics arrived to find a 32-year-old Michael Deabaitua-Schulde, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was rushed to hospital where he died a few hours later.

Police said one suspect was seen fleeing east on Dundas Street. The investigation is still in its early stages. More information will be added as it becomes available.

This is the fourth Peel Region homicide of 2019, the third for the city of Mississauga.

Update March 14th
On March 13th Marckens Vilme,  28, of Montreal was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Police also arrested Jonathan Martinez-Reyes, 26, of Montreal, and charged him with Accessory After the Fact.

A Canada Wide Warrant has been issued for the arrest of Joseph Pallotta, 38, of Montreal for First Degree Murder. He is described as 5’10’’, 245 lbs.; he has a heavy build, brown eyes, and brown graying hair. 

On March 17, 2019, Joseph Pallotta surrendered to Montreal Police.
