On June 4, 2024, Chatham / Kent police began an investigation into the death of a woman in Chatham who was found deceased at an address on William St. South.

The identity of the deceased was confirmed to be that of Louise THOMSON a 27-year-old woman from Milton, Ontario.

Jeffrey Davis a 44-year-old man and David Lozon a 59-year-old man, both from Chatham, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder and indignity to a dead body. Both were transported to police headquarters, held pending a bail hearing.

On June 5th, 2024, both men appeared in court and were remanded into custody with a future court date of June 19, 2024.

Investigators believe the death was an isolated incident and no threat to public safety.

On June 26th, 2024, Sky-Linn Holden a 23-year-old woman of no fixed address was arrested in Windsor, Ontario and charged with first degree murder and indignity to a dead body in relation to this investigation. Holden was transported to Chatham-Kent Police Service headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Update: Sky-Linn Holden, 25, has died while in custody, her lawyer told a Chatham court. Rafik Kodsy said her death followed an incident at the jail that is now under investigation.

According to Chatham Daily News, her mother, Toni-linn Ann Amond, said she was notified on Jan. 29 that her daughter had been taken to hospital in London. Holden died there on Feb. 1. Amond said the family has not been told the cause of death and may have to wait several months for answers. Because of the ongoing investigation, few details have been released. Holden had recently been transferred from the South West Detention Centre to the Elgin-Middlesex Detention Centre.

As a result of her death, the Crown stayed the murder and indignity to a body charges against her, along with two unrelated counts.
