Saskatchewan RCMP were called to a Montreal Lake Cree Nation home on November 17th on report of a shooting. On arrival police located a 16 year old boy with non life threatening injuries.

A black vehicle that fled the scene was found by Prince Albert RCMP. Police pursued the vehicle before 2 men fled on foot. Police found 25-year-old Trina Bird wounded and unresponsive in the vehicle. Bird was declared deceased at the scene.

No charges have been laid at this time, and police believe the altercation was gang related.
